Privacy Policy — SK360 Maintenance Hunter Extension
Last Updated: April 30, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the SK360 Maintenance Hunter Extension (the “Extension”), a Chrome browser extension distributed by 9DATA9 LLC d/b/a SideKick360 (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It supplements the SideKick360 Privacy Policy that governs the broader SideKick360 platform.
The Extension adds a one-click action to your cloud Shop Management System (SMS) repair-order page that generates a Maintenance Hunter report in SideKick360. It is intended for shops that already have an active SideKick360 account with Maintenance Hunter enabled.

By installing and using the Extension, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. What the Extension Does
When you click the Maintenance Hunter button on a repair-order page in a supported cloud SMS, the Extension reads data already visible on that page, sends it to the SideKick360 API to generate a report, and opens the resulting report in a new tab.
The Extension only activates on supported SMS repair-order URLs that match the host permissions declared in the Extension manifest. It does not run on unrelated websites.
Currently supported: Tekmetric. Additional cloud SMS adapters may be added in future versions; each adapter is limited to the SMS host required for that integration.
3. Data the Extension Reads
From the active repair-order page in your cloud SMS, the Extension reads the following information when you click the Maintenance Hunter button:
- Repair order identifier and basic RO metadata
- Customer name and contact details as displayed on the RO page
- Vehicle information (year, make, model, VIN, mileage)
- Service / parts / labor information visible on the RO
- The shop's SMS account / location identifier
If the RO page does not have a current odometer reading, the Extension prompts you to enter mileage so the report can be generated. The mileage you enter is used only for that report request and is not stored on your device.
The Extension does not read pages outside the supported SMS repair-order URLs, does not record keystrokes, does not capture screenshots, and does not access your browsing history.
4. Where Data Is Sent
When you click the Maintenance Hunter button, the data described in Section 3 is sent over HTTPS only to the following destinations:
- api.sidekick360.com — the SideKick360 Maintenance Hunter API endpoint that generates the report. Requests are authenticated using the API key you saved in the Extension's options page.
- *.amazonaws.com — Amazon Web Services hosts SideKick360's report assets (PDFs and report HTML). The Extension may load report assets directly from S3-hosted URLs returned by the API.
- *.tekmetric.com (or other supported SMS host) — only to read the active RO page; the Extension does not send data to your SMS provider beyond the network requests already required to view that page in your browser.
No data read by the Extension is sent to any third party other than the destinations listed above. The Extension does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or telemetry of any kind.
5. Data Stored Locally
The Extension stores the following items in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.sync), which Chrome may sync across your signed-in Chrome profiles:
- Your SideKick360 Maintenance Hunter API key (used as a Bearer token)
- Your Location ID (the SideKick360 SMS / location identifier)
- Optional: a custom SideKick360 API base URL, if you have changed it from the default
No repair-order data, customer data, or vehicle data is persisted locally by the Extension. RO data is held in memory only for the duration of a single report request.
6. Browser Permissions
The Extension requests only the permissions necessary to perform its single purpose:
- storage — to save your API key and Location ID across browser sessions
- scripting — to inject the Maintenance Hunter button into supported SMS repair-order pages
- Host permissions for the SMS hosts the Extension currently supports, plus api.sidekick360.com and amazonaws.com, for the network calls described above
The Extension does not request access to all websites, browser tabs, browsing history, downloads, identity, or any other broad permissions.
7. How We Use Information from the Extension
Data sent through the Extension is processed by SideKick360 for the following purposes:
- Generating the Maintenance Hunter report you requested (Legal basis: Performance of contract)
- Maintaining service availability, security, and abuse prevention for the SideKick360 Platform (Legal basis: Legitimate interest / Legal obligation)
- Fulfilling SideKick360's obligations to your shop as the SideKick360 customer of record (Legal basis: Performance of contract)
We do not sell your personal information or Shop Data. We do not share data sent through the Extension with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.
8. No Third-Party Sharing Beyond SideKick360 Infrastructure
Data captured by the Extension is processed only within SideKick360's existing infrastructure and the same trusted service providers disclosed in our main Privacy Policy (primarily Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage). The Extension does not send data to AI services, analytics services, or any third party not disclosed here.
9. Data Controller / Processor Relationship
Repair-order, customer, and vehicle data captured by the Extension belongs to your shop. With respect to that Shop Data, your shop is the data controller and SideKick360 acts as the data processor. With respect to your Extension settings (API key, Location ID), 9DATA9 LLC d/b/a SideKick360 is the data controller.
10. Security
All Extension network traffic uses TLS 1.2 or higher. Your API key is sent only as an Authorization Bearer header to api.sidekick360.com over HTTPS. Stored values use Chrome's built-in extension storage; we recommend you protect the Chrome profile in which the Extension is installed and revoke the API key in SideKick360 if you no longer want a given browser to be able to use it.
11. Data Retention
Local Extension storage (API key, Location ID) persists until you change it, sign out of Chrome sync, or remove the Extension. Removing the Extension from Chrome deletes its local storage.
Reports and the underlying RO data sent to api.sidekick360.com are retained according to the data retention terms in the main SideKick360 Privacy Policy.
12. Your Rights
You may exercise the same access, correction, deletion, portability, and other rights described in the main SideKick360 Privacy Policy with respect to data sent through the Extension. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@sidekick360.app.
You can stop the Extension from collecting or transmitting any further data at any time by removing it from Chrome (chrome://extensions → Remove).
13. Children's Privacy
The Extension is intended for use by automotive repair business personnel and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, communicated through the SideKick360 Platform.
15. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona.
